Ladies and Gentlemen... WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW.....

As some of you know Croydon Council have been talking about running a Parks competition to see which one in each of the 3 Croydon zones will receive £1.5million between them. The Council have now got this online vote up and rnning until the 24th December. YOU NEED TO VOTE NOW... Lloyd Park, as the home of CDGC needs to get that money assigned to it so that we can get more players and investment... Disc Golf is part of the sell that the council are using so we need to ensure that everyone with a computer votes... EVERYONE that you know needs to vote... This
is an opportunity that we must not fail on... The vote is restricted to one per email address and you have to insert your postcode... BUT that postcode DOES NOT have to be a Croydon one. Right now we are lagging behind a park in New Addington (that ironically we were offered before they agreed to Lloyd Park)

You need to validate your vote via the emailed link... very straight forward... and then please email anyone and everyone that you know who you can persuade to help us... I really cannot stress strongly enough how important this vote is... Up to £500,000 and will have a big say in how its spent... the council want Lloyd Park to win, it already has so much to offer and could be a tremendous place to visit... So ACT NOW... we really do need you.

Has this been posted on the BDGA forum. They should all be in support of Lloyd Park for this investment!

Right people, we are way ahead but we must not be lulled into a false sense of security! Please keep voting and getting friends familly, colleagues, enemies, the milkman and anyone else you can think of to vote!

Right, the Croydon Councils Parks to be Proud of has started to get the idea streams going... Now that there are a few posts up there I would invite you all to have your say ... There are a number of topics that the public will be unaware of so could i ask you all to have a look at the posts and start a different disc golf stream coming from different angles.

Ok, so these are the things that we'd like to get out there:

1.We would like to install 9 extra holes in the top part of Lloyd Park.
a.This would enable us to have a number of course designs. Good for shaking up the order of play.
b. We could install tees for a kids course. Maybe a short course. Also a alternative course format for Competitions.
c. different holes would help to entice players to croydon for "the day" as they would be able to play 2 different course and make visiting Croydon more appealing.
d. Making CDGC a "Disc Golf Centre" ... Maybe having a park ranger avaiable to hire out discs, installing more signage to explain the rules and spirit and safety of the game.
e. more coaching sessions for the cubs, scouts, schools and after school groups. more family days, lots of advertising and promotion so that more locals come out and play this incredibly inexpensive game that all ages can play together.

I am sure that your creative juices can flow so please have a crack at the website and start a debate that a lot of potential new disc golfers can get excited about... lets see if we can create a buzz out there.

Well... the message boards have closed and the voting will now begin. We have been pretty much ignored!!! With the exception of the signage and, bizarrely, my suggestion for a petanque piste.
