CDGC Night Golf - Saturday 5th April
As part of the British Open fundraising effort Phil Wood and Neal Clifton provided an evenings entertainment that proved to be be very popular and a great laugh.
We gathered at the park at 8pm we had glow sticks attavhed the the baskets that form the short course. two huge groups of 10 went out with glow discs and discs with leds in or attached. Two large boxes of sweets and a couple of hipflasks provided spot prizes around the course so the sugar rush was sustained! The attached photo is shocking but gives you an idea of what we looked like!
Heres a note from Phil:
It was a great night, playing as two large groups meant it was a little slow, but very sociable and in retrospect probably enough golf for all. Using differing pars seemed to work and the newbies were getting good scores forcing the regular golfers into really concentrating. We ended up with just over 20 players and raised about £120 for the British Open Disc Golf championship. Huge congratulations to our two hole in one's- Jerry Andrew and Paul Stoddart. After the final 3 holes our overall winner was Ian Hogg with a score of -9. Well played to everyone that took part, I would love to hear others thoughts and I'm sure if there's interest, we will do it again!
